Independent home care guide · Marin County, CA

Home care for Marin families, guided by a local operator.

Most home care directories are pay-to-play: they sell your information to whoever pays the most. Marin Care Guide is different — operator-informed editorial paired with a single vetted partner agency. One referral per family, transparent pricing, no spam.

/ 04 FAQ

Honest answers, before you decide.

Don't see your question? Request an assessment and ask anything in the form.

Most families have a caregiver in their parent's home within 3–5 days of the first call. For urgent hospital discharges, the partner agency can often start care the same day — request an assessment and flag the urgency.
Pricing through our partner agency starts at $45/hr. Most licensed Marin home care agencies sit in the $45–$65/hr range depending on caregiver experience and shift type. There are no long-term contracts. Many long-term care insurance policies cover the partner agency; they'll help you file.
You'll meet candidates before care begins, and you can request a different caregiver any time — no awkward conversations required. The care manager makes the change, often within 24 hours.
Every caregiver is a W-2 employee of the partner agency. The agency carries workers' comp, professional liability, and a bond. Your family is not the employer.
Yes. With your authorization, the care manager communicates directly with primary care, specialists, and home health. They can attend appointments when helpful and keep medication lists current.
Caregivers complete dementia-specific training before working with cognitive-decline clients. The partner agency assigns caregivers with multi-year dementia experience to dementia families.
Marin Care Guide is paid a referral fee by the partner agency on referrals that convert to clients — the same compensation model used by national directories like caring.com, but with one referral per family instead of a multi-provider blast. We never sell your information to advertisers.

When you're ready, we're already here.

Talk with an independent care advisor. No automated menus, no hard sell — just a calm conversation about what your parent needs next, and which Marin agency makes sense.
